She must be reading multicultclassics.<br /><br />"Second, while their portfolios may get them their first jobs, a great book alone doesn’t get people hired in middle- to upper-level creative jobs. Creative directors show a conscious or unconscious prejudice for hiring people like themselves—people they want to hang around with. That buddy system often plays a role"<br /><br />That's why all these diversity fairs and diversity counsels and officers mean nothing. Creative Directors who are white want to hang around and people who act look and behave just like them. Duh!!! That's why theres no diversity at the Art Director level or above. Its easy for a agency to hire entry level or give out meaningless internships, but do these agencies want anybody of color sitting in front of a client doing a presentation with milliondollar campaigns on the line?
