No less than Sir Martin Sorrell is playing the Diversity of Thought© card to muddy the waters.

“Curiously, in concluding its report, WPP took the opportunity to highlight the diversity of it’s workforce; stating that it had “always been conscious of the need for diversity in the workplace” but not through a sense of moral responsibility.”

The rest of the call is the typical dance-around-diversity BS. Sorrell laughably says, “For us, diversity is not simply a question of race, colour or gender; at least as important is a diversity of attitude, of mind-set, of ways of approaching problems.”

That means, “I’m never releasing US EEO-1 statistics, I’ll just repeat the word ‘diversity’ over and over until you drop the subject.”

Then Sorrell says, “The results reported here, presented in dispassionate numbers, are all the product of the inventive work of tens of thousands of talented individuals - and with no two alike. They come from countless different backgrounds and have countless different ways of looking at the world. They embody skills that range from the statistician to the screenwriter. They represent perhaps the most diverse example of diversity of any single organisation,”

That means, “Yes, if you look at GLOBAL numbers and hiring, we seem pretty diverse. But in the US and UK, it’s all white, all the time, we have no plans to change, and since our earnings are up, that means only white people profit, and we’re perfectly OK with that. Now let me say the word ‘diversity’ a few more times to make the smokescreen even thicker.”

What’s interesting though is that he’s in the defensive position of having to speak up on an investor call at all. What lit a fire under his feet?

I’m still praying someone it’s because someone in New York is asking for the damn EEO-1 numbers, properly, and pays attention to how hard these holding companies are trying to twist the truth.

Overseasnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11279250.post-40291739408119717942016-03-04T00:40:24.106-06:002016-03-04T00:40:24.106-06:00Oh, FFS. Didn't blink an eye at the Addys and is even USING IT AS AN EXAMPLE?

“While judging the 2016 International Andy Awards, Susan Fowler Credle (WHITE), global CCO at FCB, shared a photo of Xanthe Wells (WHITE), former CCO at The Pitch, in the jury room with her baby in her arms along with Mark Tutssel (WHITE), global CCO of Leo Burnett. Led by Chairman Colleen DeCourcy (WHITE), co-ecd at Wieden + Kennedy, six of this year’s 26 incredibly talented judges were women, including Chicago’s own Liz Taylor (WHITE), ecd at Ogilvy. A stark contrast to the all-male jury of 11 selected to judge Chicago’s 2016 Addys."

The blindness and cluelessness of this woman knows no bounds. It was OK in her mind to send an entirely white team from the US to the Addys, but suddenly a foul when it was only all white MEN in Chicago.

Hypocrite.

AngryChicagonoreply@blogger.com
