8582: Billboard Brouhaha Continues.

From The New York Daily News…

Mom Tricia Fraser furious at lack of apology from anti-abortion billboard group Life Always

The mom of the adorable girl featured in an inflammatory anti-abortion billboard in SoHo says she’s furious she hasn’t received an apology from the ad’s creators.

Tricia Fraser contacted the pro-life group Life Always last week, demanding answers after she discovered her 6-year-old was the face of its racially charged campaign.

The billboard above Sixth Ave. displayed a picture of Anissa Fraser below the message, “The most dangerous place for African Americans is in the womb.”

It was yanked Feb. 24 after drawing waves of protest.

Fraser, a single mother of four, said she finally received a call from a Life Always spokeswoman on Feb. 25 — but the rep refused to apologize or assure her the image would not be used again.

“They never answered any of my questions,” Fraser, 36, told the Daily News. “I would like some answers, some sort of apology.”

Fraser said the spokeswoman insisted that someone from the Texas-based group would get back in touch with her — but she still hasn’t received a second call.

“I’m not happy,” said Fraser, of Paterson, N.J. “I’m probably not going to get an apology.”

Marissa Gabrysch, a spokeswoman for Life Always, confirmed that she spoke to Fraser last week.

“We certainly understand her concerns and I was glad to speak to her about them,” Gabrysch said. “Out of respect for her, we’ve decided to no longer use the image going forward.”

Fraser was blindsided by the shocking billboard early last week. The stay-at-home mom said she brought Anissa and her three other children to a modeling agency two years ago.

Fraser signed an agreement allowing the pics to be used as stock images, but said she never imagined her daughter would become the poster child for an anti-abortion campaign centered around African Americans.
