8906: Tweets, Twats, Terminations & Trojans.

Twittering around with a MultiCultClassics Monologue…

• A new survey showed 3 percent of people claim that a Tweet or Facebook post ruined their marriage or relationship. Additionally, 6 percent of people said a post led to troubles at work. And an undisclosed percentage of women reported receiving a Tweet from former Rep. Anthony Weiner.

• Best Buy settled a class-action lawsuit accusing the retailer of job discrimination, including charges of denying favorable transfers and promotions to Blacks, Latinos and women. The agreement entails a four-year consent decree, during which Best Buy would implement “comprehensive affirmative relief addressing the hiring, assignment, promotion and exempt compensation claims.” In other words, look forward to patronizing diversity print ads.

• Sears will dump 700 Kmart employees who sold appliances at Kmart stores (Sears Holdings Corporation owns Sears and Kmart). Hey, any White employees who lose their jobs probably have a shot at landing a gig with Best Buy.

• A survey conducted for Trojan brand condoms showed that motor vehicles are by far the most titillating locations for having sex. Perhaps an auto brand will tap the insight for a new advertising campaign.
