• The Los Angeles Times reported Mel Gibson is reaching out to Latinos and Native Americans to hype his upcoming movie. Gibson apparently hopes to also offset any potential negative reactions associated with his recent anti-Semitic rant. • Elton John went on a rant against organized religion. “I think religion has always tried to turn hatred toward gay people,” said John. “Religion promotes the hatred and spite against gays. … But there are so many people I know who are gay and love their religion. … From my point of view, I would ban religion completely. Organized religion doesn’t seem to work. It turns people into really hateful lemmings and it’s not really compassionate.” Sacha Baron Cohen will probably tap John to handle the soundtrack for the next Borat flick.
