I keep waiting for someone in the ad-blogosphere to comment on the Mazda ad I recently saw - the one where a group of gospel choir singing African Americans harmonizes about freedom while surrounding an SUV, WTF?
Maybe everyone is too busy reading gossip about Dentsu and slipping in sly defamation of the Japanese.
Yes, we’ve seen the spot. The use of gospel choirs to sell products is typical—and stereotypical—in commercials of color. There’s no separation of church and state-of-the-art SUVs in the ad industry.
