Taco Bell continues to show confusion about its own racial and ethnic identity. It’s bad enough the fast feeder sells wannabe Mexican food that
Mexicans refuse to eat. Yet Taco Bell compounds the problem by consistently displaying cultural cluelessness. During the Super Bowl, the fast feeder aired an
inane mariachi band commercial. Now they’re running messages with
White guys rapping. Plus, the website features the
Taco Fu game, replete with a multicultural mash-up of Asian, Latino and White stereotypical imagery. Native Americans probably feel offended over being excluded from Taco Bell advertising.
