9218: The Future Role Of White Admen.


At The Big Tent, marketing expert David Burgos wrote a column titled, “What Will the Role of Whites Be in a Multicultural America?” Dunno what the correct answer might be on that question. But based on the advertising industry’s historic failure with diversity, the role of Whites on Madison Avenue in a multicultural America will remain completely unchanged.

    This is how you lockdown a industry. White people are organized, and they are united. Black and latinos are not. Ask any white person about diversity and they will tell u the exact same thing. Ask any latino or african american about diversity you will get 100 different responses. Im still in shock on how we still have "African American" "latino" and GM agencies. The rules have been set to discriminate and make minorities feel like second class citizens in a racist industry. But then again why aren't the burrells, uniworlds, and global hues uniting and protesting? They are comfortable with being the maids and janitors of the industry. Face it, white folks will not change, no matter how much they give out scholarships and bootcamps and token forums, and internships, minorities stand no chance of making it in the industry, both parties know this. Yes, you might get a token few they they might shine the light on, but overall the industry will forever be white dominated. If you look at the way its structured 99% of the people running "diversity" are black, but hold no key positions of power in the industry. Blacks cant solve diversity. Clients and the white agencies that they hire can. The future role of white admen is secure.
