Adweek published a story featuring advertising analysts examining the Publicis Groupe-Sapient deal. The piece included the following factoid: “Almost two-thirds of Sapient’s 13,000 employees work in India, with the next largest chunk (24 percent) operating in the U.S.” Presuming the majority of Sapient employees working in India are Indian, this merger could represent the largest influx of non-White talent for a holding company ever. Could Publicis Groupe CEO Maurice Lévy be covertly taking a jab at Omnicom President-CEO John Wren—the bridegroom who left Lévy standing at the altar—by showing he’s a greater Pioneer of Diversity than Wren? Zut alors!
