Oh boy! Ogilvy & Mather is holding its 2nd Annual Cross-Cultural Conference on October 22, 2012. The gala event will take place at “The Chocolate Factory,” 636 11th Avenue, New York, New York. According to the self-hype, “The 2012 conference promises to be a day filled with learnings, insights, sharing, and networking with cross-cultural thought leaders.” Gee, maybe the keynote speakers will include Tanner Colby. But don’t expect the “learnings” to feature results from the recent study conducted by Burrell. Additional self-hype claimed, “Over the past year, OgilvyCULTURE delivered cross-cultural strategic solutions for global brands within the retail, furniture, airline, energy, beverage, beauty and packaged goods categories”—which probably means the minority executives weren’t allowed to actually produce any work, handing over the “cross-cultural solutions” to their culturally clueless White associates.
