Once again, there are waaaaay more advertisements commemorating International Women’s Day than Black History Month. It’s a clear reflection of Adland’s purposeful prioritizing—that is, White women come ahead of Blacks. And for White women, International Women’s Day is every day. In contrast, the faux enthusiasm for Black History Month rarely lasts more than a week.
The hypocrisy is easy to spot. Minority of the Month campaigns get clip art and stock photos, Women's Day projects get a full arsenal of money and support.
