Oh, look! Campaign spotlighted a Black person who isn’t dead and/or hyping diversity. SBTV Founder Jamal Edwards shared his thoughts on advertising to millennials—or the DIY generation. “The DIY generation wants authenticity in 2016,” according to Edwards. Actually, the conclusion is a cliché, as every generation wants authenticity every year. Regardless, it will be difficult to deliver on Edwards’ declaration while the majority of advertising agencies are exclusively White and culturally clueless.
