Topo Chico Mineral Water, owned by The Coca-Cola Company since being purchased in 2017 for $220 million, has a unique myth behind its Aztec princess logo icon.
According to 15th Century legend, the daughter of Aztec Emperor Moctezuma I became ill with a disease that baffled doctors. Priests suggested the young woman visit a mystical spring to the north, where she drank the mountain waters of Topo Chico and was miraculously cured.
Okay, but can’t help but wonder why Mia—the Land O’Lakes Native American maiden—got canceled, while a topless Aztec princess continues to represent Topo Chico.
