Nominations are being accepted for the 2008 ADCOLOR™ Awards. Can’t help but wonder if this event is already irrelevant. Last year’s big winner was Earvin “Magic” Johnson. Maybe Kobe Bryant or Tiger Woods will take home the trophy in 2008. The commercials hyping the show are mighty lame—and the spot with the old man playing a harmonica is stereotypical bullshit.
But hey, good luck to all the inevitable nominees.

so in other words, they're condescending pats on the head and nods for people of color to throw them off from the real source of the dearth of POCs in the biz?

I don't see the reason for the negativity HighJive, and especially you Hustleknocker. Unless you guys are pissed you got passed over last year or somethin'. The awards are not about 'winning' anything... they're about celebrating POCs that work in this industry. We all realize there's a dearth of us, but why be critical of something that is attempting to change that?
As for the spots, I think they're charming... nice and subtle.
