At Business Insider, Laura Stampler took offense to a piece from The Onion that depicted a depressed DDB executive. Stampler connected the fictional character to actual tragedies in the advertising industry—and the trade writer made matters worse by detailing the horrific instances. Sorry, but the advertising industry remains private and unknown to the general public. That is, no one in their right mind would connect the dots like Stampler did. The Onion probably drew inspiration from AMC series Mad Men, where the last season showed scenes with Don Draper staring down an empty elevator shaft and Lane Pryce committing suicide. Yo, Stampler, stick to regurgitating press releases and exposing Photoshop® fails.
