Digiday published a report titled, “The Boomers in 5 charts: Marketers, ignore them at their own risk”—presenting an argument for targeting the elder audience. Yet whenever the blog comments on boomer adpeople, it illustrates stories with the most unflattering, stereotypical images possible—or verbalizes disrespect and disdain for veteran employees—ultimately displaying a hugely anti-boomer attitude bordering on ageism. On the flip side, Digiday takes every opportunity to praise and even award millennials. Wonder if the Digiday staff reflects the diversity of the major high-tech companies they revere—and/or matches the exclusivity of the traditional advertising agencies they abhor.
