9021: Mad Men @ The Marcus Graham Project.

Oops. Might have typed too soon regarding the lack of models of color sporting Banana Republic’s Mad Men fashions. Lincoln Stephens/Lincoln Steffens points to a shoot held in Dallas with The Marcus Graham Project.

9017: Mad Men Goes Bananas.

Banana Republic is launching a new line of clothing inspired by AMC series Mad Men. Wikipedia defines “banana republic” in the following ways:

Banana republic is a pejorative term that refers to a politically unstable country dependent upon limited primary productions (e.g. bananas), and ruled by a small, self-elected, wealthy, corrupt politico-economic plutocracy or oligarchy.

A banana republic is a commercial enterprise for profit by collusion between the State and favoured monopolies, whereby the profits derived from private exploitation of public lands is private property, and the debts incurred are public responsibility.

Yep, Mad Men and Banana Republic make a perfect partnership.

P.S. Have not yet seen any models of color presenting the collection.
