Worth watching on the “Where Are All The Black People?” video is the presentation by Roy Eaton. On a stage with Jeff Goodby, Jimmy Smith and Neal Arthur, Eaton was clearly the superstar of the group.
Roy is one of the few thats speaking out. He's one of the few that doesn't kiss up or play diversity games. If more african americans had his courage the industry would change. Until African Americans stand up for themselves the situation will remain the same for a very long time. We all know these agencies are not going to change, neither are clients. So at least call it what it is. If these agencies were serious they would host this event at every major city in the US. They should be going on a manhunt for black talent. They have the resources and the money to easily do it. Question remains. Do these agencies want people of color, especially blacks in creative roles at their agencies/ Given by their actions I would say absolutely not!
