California State Lottery is looking for a new White advertising agency—or at least pretending to conduct a search.
A closer look shows the Lottery is seeking a contract extension for the incumbent White advertising agency—David&Goliath—but must go through an RFP process to gain official approval.
The banner depicted above requests “qualified agencies to provide General Consumer Marketing and Advertising services”—which seemingly eliminates non-White advertising agencies from serious consideration, as such firms would likely be deemed unqualified.
In short, the California Lottery is presenting a rigged game designed to reward exclusivity.
If minority-owned advertising agencies are integrated into the mix, expect Prime Redlining and payout in crumbs.
