Essay 612

MultiCultClassics presents Blacks & Booze…

Why would Hennessy use the image of a man who suffered from drug and alcohol addictions? For that matter, would Marvin Gaye ever have agreed to hawk this brand? What’s going on?

what's going on is this: baby-boomer, ex-panther, x-generation hacks have run out of whatever good ideas and ideals that got them into this game in the first place. left without a real concept or a conscience, they mine all that is/was good about our collective culture –music, movies, icons and (s)heros– and repackage them to hawk everything from booze to cruise control. make me wanna holler!
