The Google Doodle depicted above salutes the late Corky Lee, whose work as an activist and photographer spotlighted Asian-American culture and contributions, emphasizing that Asian-American history is American history.
Meanwhile, Google is apparently doing a decent job in regards to hiring and representation of people of Asian descent—waaaaay better than Black and Latinx. Although it’s somewhat peculiar given the numbers exceed 40%, despite Asian Americans only comprising 7.2% of the US population.
Perhaps there’s some truth to the stereotype that people of Asian descent inherently excel in technology…?
