5120: Black History Month 2008.


Every year, at least one advertiser produces a BHM ad saluting Black inventors—and the advertiser probably thinks they invented the idea.

Nissan/Tru's concept???: Let's put a bunch of Nissan Vehicles around the 125th Street Station in Harlem...show how AA inventions are a part of our everyday lives...but let's only push it during the AA History Month time slot...Nissan is down with an urban setting

You'll need the full size ad that ran to compare but I had fun comparing the creative to the image you are going to see in Google Street View

-Liked the thought behind highlighting AA inventors but how long has it been since you've seen 4 yellow cabs in the general vicinity of one another at Tiemann Pl/125th & Broadway
-I found Waldo but I could only spot six Nissan vehicles out of their line-up
-The buildings in the background are located where in real life?
-Liked how the tan building located at the right center of the photo appears above the track but somehow disappears below the track
-Look how individuals are walking across Broadway into and out of moving traffic...that's NY!
-The guy in front of the "Chemist" shop has a disappearing shadow leg
-Love how "Letter Drop Mailboxes are located every 60 feet
-How many AA individuals do you see?
-Is that a guy in the window on the second floor above the vehicle or an illusion?

Now thats more like it...
-NYFD's finest on an Ambulance Run
-The silver BMW almost looks like the Altima if you squint your eyes
-Pan back to the NW and you see what appears to be a Sentra (didn't see one in ad)
-Where are all the buildings to the SE?

This will be a fun ad to show off in the proverbial introduction to marketing class
