2015 was the year of Ad Agency Diversity Discussions.

If you were a white woman.

Speaking from personal experience, I saw what felt like endless talks, blogs, workshops, invitations, news and pep talks about GENDER diversity. Lots more about “diversity of thought.” Then every diversity success that was celebrated featured a picture of a white woman, always.

Zero discussion of ethnic diversity, except for that Here Are All The Black People photo that went viral with a stage full of not-black ad people.

I don’t know if I can take another year of this, but then again I look around and it’s not like there’s anyone else of color to discuss it with so I just gotta presume the little numbers we had to start, are slipping down to almost nothing in 2016 :(
