15966: McNews Item.

From the ‘You-Can’t-Make-This-Shit-Up’ category: In the Byron Allen lawsuit charging Mickey D’s with discriminatory practices toward Black-owned media—which includes accusations of cultural cluelessness and systemic racism—the last name of a lawyer representing the fast feeder is Lynch.

Hopefully, this is not an ominous sign for Allen.

I would like to be a fly on the wall of the jury room if someone on Byron Allen's side asks McDonald's leaders to explain what a "shadow shoot" is.

For the uninitiated, a shadow shoot at McDonald's is when a white team and white media partners get to film a big budget commercial, and then they bring in a Black or hispanic or Asian team to shoot on the same set, with Black or hispanic or Asian talent and crew, and they do the same job but get paid a tiny sliver of what their white counterparts all got.

The ethnic teams never get to shoot the general market job with the big budget, but the white teams get to shoot both the general market and the ethnic market work for even more money all the time.

The flow of media money at McDonald's has been going one way for years, and that way is white.
