Adweek published a report on the evolving role of account directors. Didn’t bother accessing the “premium” content; however, the accompanying photographic montage depicted above appears to make a clear statement. That is, long-haired White women constitute the majority representing White advertising agencies—and White men still far outnumber people of color (and reportedly command higher salaries than women too).
Given that the article appears under a banner reading, “The Future Of Agencies,” it doesn’t bode well for the future of diversity, equity, and inclusion from a racial and ethnic perspective.
PS, please note the cleverness of the post title, as popular sitcom “Who’s The Boss?” featured lead character Angela Bower, a high-powered advertising executive—who was also a long-haired White woman.
