9314: Madison Avenue Loves Racist Humor.
Likely responding to the Advertising Age story on Omnicom’s moves in the digital arena, a prankster drafted a fictitious letter from John Wren. Mimicking messaging by Netflix, the missive mocks the Omnicom CEO. All the insider references indicate a current or former Omnicom employee probably created it. Anyway, the letter takes an ugly turn, serving up plenty of racist remarks. Can’t help but wonder how well the fake memo represents the typical Omnicom drone. And it appeared just days after the Omnicom Chief Diversity Officer’s annual lovefest. Nice.
