Besides seeing secretary Dawn Chambers in the background, the latest episode of AMC series Mad Men made only one mention of Blacks—in reference to ex-copywriter Paul Kinsey’s Star Trek treatment featuring outer space beings called “Negrons.” For Mad Men, minorities are as alien as, well, aliens.
