Adweek reported on a GE commercial from BBDO via a headline that read: “GE Imagines a World Where We Treat Female Scientists Like Celebrities.” Is BBDO sucking up to its other client, HP? Hey, BBDO should also create a commercial imagining a world where Black celebrities are treated like advertising executives. Oh, wait a minute—that world actually exists. BTW, the credits for the BBDO commercial indicate all the key creatives on the project are men.

Let's get specific. WHITE men. Followed by white women.
A few ethnic names sprinkled in once or twice, but this oh-so-diverse example of ultimate and sheer ad agency diversity is, as usual, as always, of the white men and white female variety only, with a thin veneer of ambiguously ethnic talent (can't ever be TOO ethnic) in front of the camera.
That's as far as multicultural ad agency diversity goes in 2017 and beyond. Surface level only.
