Essay 4600

The final episode of AMC series Mad Men was presented without commercial interruption, which meant the unbearable awfulness only lasted about 50 minutes versus the regular hour.

The show did introduce one new minority: Carla the housekeeper, a Black woman who appears to work for the Draper family. Maybe she’ll get her own spin-off series like Florida of Good Times.

don't celebrate just yet–AMC has renewed for a second season. From the suits about 'the suits': "AMC's first foray into original scripted series has been a success right out of the gate. We're grateful to have connected with a passionate fan base, and we're looking forward to an exciting second season which will continue to spark broader cultural conversation." talk about believing your own hype!

I was wondering when they'd show the Drapers domestic help, pretty common in that era. Though they still never explained who is babysitting the kids when the Drapers come home drunk and immediately head upstairs to the bedroom. Oh well...

But in a nod to political correctness, I hope you caught that Carla was much more well dressed than I ever remember any housekeeper being.

"pretty common in that era"??

what era was that, toad?

the show takes place a little over 40 years ago. not 140 years ago.

wake up and crawl out of your bubble.
