Essay 4612


It’s interesting to see JWT running the diversity ad above, given the agency declined getting involved with New York City’s Commission on Human Rights last year. But it also makes you wonder how other advertising agencies might present diversity messages…

I've worked in advertising for the past 22 years. I've never, ever seen someone ruled out of a position because of their skin color, sexual preference or gender. In fact, I'd say the ad industry is more accepting than most. Truth is, I don't get many black candidates applying for jobs, when I do, and their book looks good, I'll hire them.

i don't see too many people of color in advertising. they're doing this because there's been backlash i think
