15089: Avon Calling Normal Is Normal Nonsense.

In the Philippines, Avon presents the #NudeNormal, but it looks like the old beauty standards and objectification of women.

14989: Unorthodox Easter Celebration Is A Swiss Miss.

This campaign from Switzerland hyping sex toys during Easter undoubtedly offended churchgoers and anyone with creative standards alike. The hacks responsible should have the work shoved up their asses—for which they’d likely be gratefully satisfied.

14939: Hands Away—But Eyes Probing And Violating Boundaries.

This HandsAway campaign from TBWA in France purports to be arguing against sexual harassment, yet the photography seems predatory, disrespecting boundaries and objectifying women. But hey, what can one expect from messages crafted by an industry filled with expert sexual harassers?

14702: Cindy Gallop’s Act Is Getting Obscenely Old And Tired.

Campaign reported on the latest self-promotional stunt from Divertsity Dame Cindy Gallop, who posted a disruptive divertisement for her porn hobby. If a male advertising executive publicly promoted such a venture, it’s a safe bet that Gallop and Diet Madison Avenue would call for his execution. The hypocrisy only underscores Gallop’s thorough lack of character and credibility. Looks like Kevin Roberts was spot on when saying of Gallop, “I think she’s got problems that are of her own making. I think she’s making up a lot of the stuff to create a profile, and to take applause, and to get on a soap[box].” Gallop’s got more soapboxes that Procter & Gamble and Unilever combined. And somebody needs to wash her mouth out with soap.

Here’s why Cindy Gallop projected social sex on NYC buildings this weekend

By Lindsay Stein

The diversity and inclusion advocate launched a guerilla marketing effort to fight censorship.

Cindy Gallop has had it with the strict rules and increasing limitations around adult content on social platforms and in advertising, so the CEO and founder of MakeLoveNotPorn decided to take matters into her own hands over the weekend.

On Friday and Saturday night, Gallop launched a guerilla marketing effort for MakeLoveNotPorn (MLNP) in New York City to tackle current censorship taking place across advertising channels. The outspoken diversity and inclusion advocate projected films and images to promote and help recruit for MLNP — a user-generated social sex video-sharing platform — on buildings in the city, including 14th and Broadway, 14th and 8thAvenue and Houston & MacDougal.

Gallop launched MLNP about 10 years ago to help drive healthy conversations around real sex and erase harmful myths and stigmas put into society by the hardcore porn industry.

Throughout her journey with MLNP, Gallop has struggled — like many sex tech companies — to promote her company through advertising, whether with traditional spots, billboards or social placements.

Without the option of using traditional OOH buys, Gallop teamed up with Jane Wayne Productions on her guerilla marketing effort to raise awareness of censorship issues as well as her company.

14117: Noticing The Gaps.

McCann London created this campaign for MysteryVibe, producer of a technologically advanced vibrator. Oddly enough, despite the divertsity trend snowballing in adland, the credits show the responsible McCann teammates are predominately male. Did anybody consider that the best way to “help close the orgasm gap” might have involved closing the gender gap?

10517: Keeping Abreast Of Fashion At Sears.

From The New York Daily News…

Sears under fire for racy photo — and it’s not the first time

The retailer’s ‘Morris Babydoll Mesh & Lace’ outfit was offered by a 3rd party in its site’s Marketplace section.

By Christine Roberts / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

Sears’ family-friendly image is taking another hit.

The retail giant has landed in hot water after its website featured an explicit photo of a woman wearing a sheer slip that gave consumers a bit of a peep show.

Sears quickly took down the “Morris Babydoll Mesh & Lace” product and picture, which revealed the model’s nipples, after Reddit users called attention to the racy image.

The product was offered for a cool $25.25, according to Gawker, through the website’s Marketplace section, which Sears describes as “a community of sellers,” meaning that the store allows third-parties to post products and photos to their site.

In this case, a retail company known as “Fright Depot,” which boasts an array of “sexy clothing,” separated by categories like “Cave Girl” and “Pirate,” is responsible for the photo.

Some Reddit users didn’t seem too offended by the image.

“I f---ing hate it when they airbrush out the nipples. I accidentally bought something that was see-through for my girlfriend and she was less than amused and did not believe it was an accident,” one user wrote.

Another added, “I always have to wonder why we think nudity is such a big deal. It really just goes over my head as to why (specifically in the US) we are cool with graphic depictions of death and torture (eg Saw) but a video of with two people having sex is totally unacceptable.”

This is not the first time Sears has been under fire for having explicit content on its website.

In February, the store sparked controversy when an erotic photo for an “Elegant Moments” camisole popped up on the site.

“The terms on our Marketplace prohibit images from displaying nudity and see-through clothing. Most often, we see third-party sellers blocking out the nudity in the images,” Sears spokesperson Tom Aiello told Forbes at the time.

“We perform ad-hoc content audits to remove inappropriate items and also take customer feedback and react very quickly.”

It remains unclear how often these audits are performed as Sears did not return requests for comment to the Daily News as of Wednesday evening.

8906: Tweets, Twats, Terminations & Trojans.

Twittering around with a MultiCultClassics Monologue…

• A new survey showed 3 percent of people claim that a Tweet or Facebook post ruined their marriage or relationship. Additionally, 6 percent of people said a post led to troubles at work. And an undisclosed percentage of women reported receiving a Tweet from former Rep. Anthony Weiner.

• Best Buy settled a class-action lawsuit accusing the retailer of job discrimination, including charges of denying favorable transfers and promotions to Blacks, Latinos and women. The agreement entails a four-year consent decree, during which Best Buy would implement “comprehensive affirmative relief addressing the hiring, assignment, promotion and exempt compensation claims.” In other words, look forward to patronizing diversity print ads.

• Sears will dump 700 Kmart employees who sold appliances at Kmart stores (Sears Holdings Corporation owns Sears and Kmart). Hey, any White employees who lose their jobs probably have a shot at landing a gig with Best Buy.

• A survey conducted for Trojan brand condoms showed that motor vehicles are by far the most titillating locations for having sex. Perhaps an auto brand will tap the insight for a new advertising campaign.

8852: Sexy Figures And Employment Figures.

Working through the news in a MultiCultClassics Monologue…

• Actress Jessica Lowndes revealed in the July issue of FHM magazine that she is obsessed with lingerie. “I have a lingerie addiction…” said Lowndes. “I have three drawers full of lingerie at home and I have already been lingerie shopping in London, even though I should be going out and buying more practical clothes. I just can’t help myself. It makes me feel pretty and sexy.” Gee, maybe she should start a Lingerie Anonymous meeting.

• May experienced a significantly lower increase in new jobs than previous months. To compound the problems, it appears that over half of the new jobs resulted from Mickey D’s hiring spree promotion. Maybe Jessica Lowndes could help boost employment by starting a “Buy Jessica Lowndes Worn Panties” company.

• A new survey shows the number of American workers who believe they’ll earn more money one year from today is at its lowest in 25 years. “The crawl out of this economic ditch is going to be long and slow,” said one financial expert. “Even if they’re employed, many consumers aren’t earnings what they were two years ago, either because they’re in lower-paying jobs or not getting as many hours.” Or they just landed a McJob.

6837: Racy, Racing And Racism.

Sex and slurs in a MultiCultClassics Monologue…

• A Calvin Klein billboard is sparking controversy in New York’s SoHo area. The image appears to show a teenage girl in a threesome, and many think it’s going too far. “It shows a lack of respect for our society, especially for young people,” said the Rev. Don Wildmon. “It’s a sad thing in America when the only thing they want is money and they’ll keep using sex to get it.” No comments yet from Sarah Palin and David Letterman.

• Bryan Berry, the crew chief of NASCAR driver Brendan Gaughan, was indefinitely suspended for using racial slurs against Black driver Marc Davis. The comments took place after a collision involving Gaughan and Davis, and BlackVoices.com indicated Gaughan was suspended too. NASCAR constantly fights the perception that it’s a racist sport with a predominately White audience. It would be ironic, although not surprising, if NASCAR sought image advice from Madison Avenue.
