7141: No Barbie Dream House For You.
Toying with the news in a MultiCultClassics Monologue…
• Gwen, one of the latest American Girl dolls, is sparking controversy because she’s homeless. Of course, the toy costs more money than most homeless people will see in a year. • Kmart is giving discounts on select items to unemployed people. To be eligible, all you have to do is show a valid ID and proof of unemployment. As if shopping at Kmart isn’t humiliating enough.
• General Motors plans to completely eliminate its Saturn brand after a deal with racing legend Roger Penske fell through. Saturn dealers are invited to visit Kmart and pick up a Gwen doll.
