8795: Adweek Uglier Than Other Trade Pubs.

Adweek really is ghetto. The publication saw fit to run a story on the Psychology Today fiasco, despite the incident’s fuzzy relevance to an advertising audience. Then again, Adweek has declared itself The Voice of Media—whatever that means. Regardless, the outrageous matter here involves the comments being left for the story. A couple of trolls typed racist remarks that would be stricken from most online sources. One can only wonder how accurately the ugly comment creators represent the advertising industry. Adweek recently revised its access privileges, requiring registration in order to post comments. And it appeared that the editorial board had elected to prohibit AgencySpy-like threads. Guess the staffers were too busy covering the latest corporate cafeteria closing or celebrity death to monitor the website.

This article, which appeared in TheGrio.com, about the PT piece, was excellent.
