14212: Cannes Cons XIV.

Related to the previous post, in case nobody noticed, Sunday marked the official end to the Publicis Groupe ban on award shows and trade shows. Wonder if the employees received a Marcel-manufactured memo on the milestone. The one-year restriction didn’t prohibit the White holding company from collecting awards when others covered the charges. And White advertising agencies in the Publicis Groupe network continued to generate self-promotion over trophy victories. Perhaps for transparency, the company listed specific exceptions regarding the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, which actually saw quite a bit of Publicis Groupe participation—including a presentation about Marcel delivered by bigwigs like Chairman and CEO Arthur Sadoun. Heaven forbid the premier awards event could have survived without that dazzling demonstration. Remember, the executive order was originally positioned as a cost-saving measure to help finance Marcel. All of which makes the ban a Big Cannes of Bullshit.
