• The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say Americans may have reached their peak of obesity. In the last five years, the figures have been constant for men — and women and children have remained steady for about ten years. Mickey D’s will either view this as a colossal marketing opportunity or a failure on their part to increase the obesity threshold.
• A new study shows unemployment for U.S. Blacks is projected to hit a 25-year high, with a national rate of 17.2 percent, and five states recording over 20 percent. Doesn’t look like anything is about to peak here.
